Lufthansa cancels 600 flights today
Lufthansa has cancelled around 600 flights today due to industrial action.
The strikes by Germany’s main union Ver.di are expected to hit airports in Frankfurt, Munich, Cologne, D-¼sseldorf, Hamburg, Hannover and Stuttgart.
Most of the flights cancelled are domestic or within Europe.
The airline advised passengers to refer to its website for more information and to make alternative travel arrangements by rail where possible.
The airline warned the strike, which comes just over a month after similar action, would cost its millions, even though it is not involved in the dispute.
The strikes stem from a wider pay dispute for 2.1 million federal and municipal workers.
