Malaysia 2025 tourist arrivals surpass Thailand
Malaysia has topped Thailand for the second year running to become the top Southeast Asia nation for foreign tourist arrivals.
Malaysia welcomed 38.3 million arrivals during the first 11 months of 2025, which surpasses the full-year total for 2024, Tourism Malaysia says.
It is well ahead of Thailand which recently announced 32.9 million arrivals for 2025.
This marks a 7% year-on-year decline for Thailand.
Thailand has contended with a number of issues impacting tourism this year, notably the ongoing border tensions with neighbouring Cambodia.
