Malaysia Airlines and Singapore Airlines have officially launched their strategic joint business partnership with the introduction of joint fare products for travel between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
The partnership was formalized in January 2026 after receiving the necessary regulatory approvals and represents a major step forward in the airlines’ long-standing commercial collaboration.
The new joint fare offerings build on the carriers’ existing codeshare agreement, providing travelers with a wider range of fare options between the two Southeast Asian capitals. Customers will also benefit from improved connectivity across the combined networks of both airlines, making it easier to access destinations throughout Asia and beyond.
The launch marks the first phase of a broader partnership strategy. Malaysia Airlines and Singapore Airlines are now working toward introducing additional customer benefits, including reciprocal lounge access, coordinated flight schedules, and joint corporate travel programs.
Bryan Foong, Chief Executive Officer of Airline Business at Malaysia Aviation Group, said the partnership represents an important milestone in expanding cooperation between the two airlines.
“This joint business partnership with Singapore Airlines marks a significant milestone in the expansion of our commercial collaboration. By introducing joint fare products, we are giving our customers greater choice, improved flexibility, and a more seamless travel experience,” Foong said.
He added that the collaboration would create a foundation for deeper network integration while benefiting both leisure and business travelers.
Singapore Airlines Chief Commercial Officer Lee Lik Hsin said the new fare products would provide passengers with greater flexibility and convenience when planning trips between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
“As we deepen our collaboration, we will continue to combine our strengths to enhance both airlines’ offerings and deliver greater value to customers, while strengthening the long-standing people-to-people connections and trade links between Singapore and Malaysia,” Lee said.
The partnership builds on years of cooperation between the two carriers. Since signing a commercial cooperation framework agreement in October 2019, Malaysia Airlines and Singapore Airlines have progressively expanded their relationship through codeshare services covering destinations in Malaysia, Singapore, Europe, and South Africa.
In February 2024, the airlines also introduced reciprocal earning and redemption benefits between the Enrich and KrisFlyer loyalty programs, allowing members to earn and redeem points and miles on selected flights operated by either carrier.
