Malaysia Airlines’ launches Facebook Messenger chatbot
Malaysia Airlines’ digital transformation continues apace with the launch of MHchat, a new Facebook Messenger chatbot.
The chatbot has been developed by Amadeus with Malaysia Airlines as its launch customer.
It allows travellers to book flights, manage bookings, and ask questions through the social media messaging platform.
Customers can make queries and receive offers or information using artificial intelligence.
Transactions can be completed with secure payments within the app.
"Customer experience is a key priority for Malaysia Airlines and we are deeply committed to constantly improving it. Our digital transformation strategy lies at the heart of this," said Malaysia Airlines CEO Izham Ismail.
"We are pleased to partner with Amadeus on the launch of MHchat, and we are excited to be the first in Malaysia to bring this to travellers."
The airline says it will continue to enhance the chatbot with extra features over time, including multi-language support, the ability to add ancillary products to an existing booking, and integrating voice support via Amazon’s Alexa.
