Malaysia goes Green
KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia will embark on a rebranding exercise to promote Malaysia as THE destination for eco tourism in the region.
Focus of the rebranding are the primary tourist destinations of Langkawi, Port Dickson (Selangor), Penang, Kuala Terengganu (Terengganu), Sabah and Sarawak.
Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said the ministry would promote these places for their eco-tourism products and activities, as well as value-for-money destinations.
On offer are nature and leisure holidays that include diving and sea sports activities in Sabah’s famed Sipadan island, trekking at Sarawak’s Mulu National Park. golfing in Penang, sailing and cruising in Langkawi Geopark and snorkelling off the islands of Terengganu.
Additionally, the destinations will also be turned into shopping paradise for tourists and accommodate “Malaysia My Second Home” programme, added Tengku Adnan.
