Man arrested following tube station closure in terror alert
A 19-year old man has been arrested by counter terrorism police after a suspicious device was blown up in a controlled explosion at North Greenwich Tube station, close to the O2 arena, yesterday.
Officers used tasers during the arrest in north London, said the BB.
The man was taken to a London police station, where he remains in custody.
North Greenwich tube station was evacuated during yesterday’s incident, which disrupted the travel plans of those trying to reach the O2, one of London’s top entertainment venues.
