A man has been charged with robbing four travel agencies in the south east of England after being arrested as he attempted to flee the country.
The 20-year-old from south London was detained by police in the early hours of December 31 after he was spotted at Gatwick airport boarding a flight to Portugal.
He has been charged with four counts of robbery and four counts of possessing a firearm while committing an offence, said the BBC.
The alleged offences took place in December in Barnet in north London, Sandwich and Hythe in Kent and Hove in East Sussex with the theft of currency and travellers’ cheques.
