Management reshuffle for Starwood brands
After hinting at big changes ahead for its business strategy last week, Starwood Hotels & Resorts has made several significant changes to senior management at brand level.
Starwood has appointed John Peyton to a new role of senior vice president, brands and shared services.
Reporting to Peyton, several new global brand leaders have been named to head up individual brands in the Starwood portfolio.
Dave Marr has been appointed global brand leader, Sheraton and Tribute brands, Jim Petrus will oversee the St. Regis brand, Hoyt Harper at The Luxury Collection, and Anthony Ingham as brand leader, W Hotels Worldwide.
"Our brands are the heart and soul of Starwood," said Adam Aron, Starwood’s interim CEO.
"We are investing in our global brand organization to further invigorate innovation, marketing and guest experience across all of our more than 1,200 Starwood hotels around the world."
"Starwood is a dynamic organization, and we didn’t have to look far to find great leaders within our ranks to take on new brand leadership roles," Peyton said.
I look forward to working with our new global brand leaders as we sharpen the focus on Starwood’s unique brands."
Last week the company said it would explore all strategic alternatives to deliver more shareholder value, sparking rumors that a takeover or merger could be in the works.
