Manchester Airport T3 revamp unveiled
Manchester Airport has revealed more details of its ambitious plans for a multimillion-pound upgrade at Terminal 3.
The airport already announced the closure of Terminal 1. The airport has now unveiled plans to use part of Terminal 1 for the expansion at Terminal 3.
T3 updates will include a revamped entrance, security hall and departure lounge with a 500-seat bar, new shops and security screening upgrades.
The Manchester Airport Group first launched its transformation programme a decade ago.
It is ‘another exciting step’ for an improved passenger experience, Manchester Airport managing director Chris Woodroofe said.
Work has already started on the Terminal 3 revamp and is expected to be completed next year.
“Moving to a two-terminal airport is giving us a great opportunity to use some of the existing Terminal 1 space to increase the footprint of Terminal 3,” Woodroofe added.
“We’re doing that as well as making some all-round improvements to Terminal 3 so passengers will enjoy new security technology, more space, new retail and more.”
The airport wide upgrade programme saw an extension added to Terminal 2 in 2021.
The second phase is due to be completed later this year.

Shame they couldn't find 5 square meters for a post security smoking area, the only reason I bothered flying from Manchester. Their loss.
