Marriott International signs new hotels for Malaysia, Japan
Marriott International has inked new management agreements with long-time partner YTL Hotels for several new locations across Asia.
They will develop two new luxury hotels in Malaysia, for JW Marriott and EDITION brands in Kuala Lumpur.
YTL Hotels’ second JW Marriott hotel will be located near KL Sentral.
Malaysia’s first EDITION hotel, featuring 350 rooms, will rise in Kuala Lumpur’s KLCC district.
YTL Hotels also relaunched the 578-room JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur last week after an extensive refurbishment.
Marriott’s EDITION is also coming to Japan’s winter sports hotspot Niseko Village in Hokkaido along with a new W Hotel.
YTL Hotels is also bringing Japan’s first Ritz-Carlton Reserve to Niseko Village.

Smith, president and managing director for Marriott International Asia Pacific.
YTL Hotels owns and manages a large portfolio of hotels and resorts and is one of Marriott’s largest owning companies, with 11 properties under various Marriott brands including The Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott and Autograph Collection.
It also co-owns the Eastern & Oriental Express luxury train.
