Marriott offers free Wi-Fi for all direct bookings
Marriott International will soon offer free Wi-Fi at its full service brand hotels for all loyalty members – as long as they book direct.
In a move to wrest back more control from online booking sites, the company is offering guests free in-room wireless Internet at over 3,800 hotels from January 15 next year.
The deal includes standard Wi-Fi for entry-level tier members of Marriott Rewards but Gold and Platinum Elite members will still enjoy enhanced Wi-Fi access with faster download speeds.
It is applicable for all direct bookings at Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott, and Marriott Hotel brands along with Autograph Collection Hotels, Renaissance Hotels, Gaylord Hotels, AC Hotels by Marriott and Marriott Executive Apartments.
Other Marriott brands including Residence Inn, SpringHill Suites, Fairfield Inn & Suites, TownePlace Suites, Courtyard, Marriott Vacation Club, Edition and Moxy Hotels already offer free Wi-Fi for all guests.
Marriott said it has 47 million guests registered in its Marriott Rewards loyalty program.
