Marriott’s Autograph Collection coming to Belize
Marriott International’s Autograph Collection is checking in to Belize.
The independent brand will plant its flag in the country with the 2020 opening of Alaia, a boutique resort in the south of Ambergris Caye Island.
Alaia will join the 135 independent hotels in the brand after a deal was sealed with owner and developer Andrew Ashcroft.
The beachfront resort will feature 56 two-bedroom condos with a ‘lock off’ option to effectively double inventory plus eight beachfront villas.
"The unique Alaia boutique resort is defined by unique design in one of the most desirable locations in the world. We are excited to partner with Andrew Ashcroft on this Autograph Collection project,£ said Laurent De Kousemaeker, Marriott’s chief development officer for the Caribbean and Latin America.
Alaia broke ground at the end of 2017 and is being launched in multiple phases.
The resort will house a beach club exclusive to guests and residents, a rooftop suspended pool and lounge, spa, dive shop, fitness center and live art gallery.
Interiors will be created by renowned Brazilian designer Debora Aguiar.
"Alaia will bring a new opportunity with competitive prices for those to purchase or visit in a setting that speaks to the island’s modern twist on resort living," said David Hurst, VP of sales for Alaia.
