Mayor gives go-ahead for new London cruise terminal
London Mayor Boris Johnson has given the go-ahead for a controversial cruise terminal on the River Thames.
The project got the final approval despite protests from local residents and community groups.
The cruise terminal would be built at London’s Enderby Wharf, between Greenwich and Tower Hamlets.
Those living nearby are concerned an increase in cruise liners will lead to more pollution, traffic and noise.
The development, which will include restaurants, cafes, bars and homes, would accommodate 55 cruise ships a year, bringing thousands of tourists to the capital.
