Meade makes a Rendezvous for 2008
SYDNEY – Rendezvous Hotels & Resorts International has appointed Michael Meade as group senior vice president of sales & marketing. He will be responsible for all Rendezvous’ sales and marketing strategies and activities, starting in January 2008.
Meade comes to Rendezvous from a similar role in Shanghai with Jin Jiang Hotels, China’s largest hotel company with over 310 hotels and inns.
Prior to this, he held the position of regional director of marketing, Australia, New Zealand, South Pacific for Intercontinental Hotels Group, responsible for the sales and marketing function for over 45 hotels across five brands.
Rendezvous’ chief executive Alan Featherby said, “Michael’s role is vital as we continue to expand the group throughout the region. He will bring a strong international background and extensive strategic marketing experience to our group efforts and will make an important contribution to our senior executive team.
“With 14 hotels already operating under the Rendezvous and Marque brands and the plan to double this over the next five years, it is imperative that Rendezvous continues to focus on programmes and people that will deliver market leadership.”
Meade said his experience with global and regional hotel brands, gained in Australia, NZ and Asia “will be valuable in helping to achieve exciting development plans and cement the Rendezvous position in the regional marketplace”.
“I have long admired the growth of Rendezvous over the past 10 years and am excited to be returning to Australia to join such an impressive company and management team.”
