Meadowood celebrates 45 years with wine weekends

Meadowood is proud to celebrate forty-five years as a center of viticultural life in Napa Valley and a second home for those who enjoy the beauty and hospitality of wine country. In honor of their 45th Anniversary we’re pleased to present:

The Wine-Inspired Weekend Series 2009

March 7: Celebrating the Wines of Schramsberg
Afternoon: Private tour and tasting at Schramsberg, Calistoga
Evening: Dinner with Schramsberg Owner and President Hugh Davies in The Restaurant at Meadowood. One night’s lodging and dinner seating for two on March 7 beginning at $1,075 Two nights’ lodging and dinner seating for two on March 7 beginning at $1650.

March 13-14: The Culinary Institute of America’s Vintners Hall of Fame Gala Dinner
Meadowood is honored to partner with The Culinary Institute of America for a weekend celebration honoring the 2009 inductees into The Culinary Institute of America’s Vintners Hall of Fame: Gerald Asher, Frederick & Jacob Beringer, Jack & Jamie Davies, Jess Jackson, Carole Meredith, Justin Meyer and Warren Winiarski. March 20-22: International Dining & Wine Etiquette
In an age when good wine and food are not just staples but passions of the discerning traveler, International Dining & Wine Etiquette navigates a well-mannered course of discovery and delight through the all-too-neglected arts of social grace and cultural awareness as they relate to wine, food and international travel. Created by Gilles de Chambure, MS, Meadowood’s Director of Wine Education, in collaboration with Deborah King, founder and owner of the Final Touch Finishing School, these weekend-long programs highlight the ins and outs of etiquette presented for those with a passion for living well as experienced around the world. Afternoon: Private tour and tasting at Rudd Estate, Rutherford
Evening: Dinner with Rudd Estate host Kenny Koda in The Restaurant at Meadowood. Two nights’ lodging and dinner seating for two in The Restaurant on March 28 beginning at $1650.

April 4: Celebrating the Wines of Roy Estates
Afternoon: Private tour and tasting at Roy Estates
Evening: Dinner with Roy Estates Winemaker in The Restaurant at Meadowood. Two nights’ lodging and dinner seating for two on April 4 beginning at $1650.

April 11-12: Easter Weekend

April 18: Celebrating the Wines of Blackbird Vineyards

April 25: Celebrating the Wines of Rubicon Estate
Afternoon: Private tour and tasting at Rubicon Estate, Rutherford
Evening: Dinner with Rubicon Estate Director Larry Stone, MS in The Restaurant at Meadowood. Two-nights’ lodging and dinner seating for two on April 25 beginning at $1,650.

May 2: Annual Flowering of the Vines Weekend
Guests are invited this weekend to tour vineyards surrounding Meadowood with Meadowood Wine Educator, Gilles de Chambure, MS to gain insights into this exciting time of the year for our local vintners. As the vines spring to life and the berries of a new vintage begin to appear, Gilles will impart his wisdom about how to know when a vintage is off to landmark status…all by studying the weather and other natural conditions surrounding the flowering of the vines…also know as "bud break." May 23: Celebrating the Wines of Darioush
Afternoon: Private tour and tasting at Darioush, Napa
Evening: Dinner with Darioush host Daniel de Polo in The Restaurant at Meadowood. Two nights’ lodging and dinner seating for two in The Restaurant on May 23 beginning at $1,650.

May 30: Celebrating the Wines of Old Vine Imports
Evening: Dinner featuring Massandra from the last century with Owner Bob Collins in The Restaurant at Meadowood. One night’s lodging and dinner seating for two in The Restaurant on May 30 beginning at $1,075. Two nights’ lodging and dinner seating for two on May 30 beginning at $1,650.

June 4-6: Auction Napa Valley – An American Classic
Join the Napa Valley Vintners and the Trefethen Family ~ the 2009 Auction chairs, during this magical time of year in Napa Valley.
Auction Napa Valley was established in 1981 by the Napa Valley Vintners to raise needed funds for healthcare, youth services and affordable housing non-profits. The premier charity wine auction in the world, this must-attend event convenes the first weekend in June each year. Since that first Live Auction, held as it is today on the lawn at beautiful Meadowood Napa Valley, the Auction has contributed to the Napa Valley community more than $85 million..
