Medical emergency leads to P&O cancelling two sailings
P&O Ferries cancelled two sailings after a lorry driver died on the ship from a suspected heart attack.
The 10:45am Calais to Dover and the 12:05pm, Dover to Calais with the Spirit of France were cancelled today (9th) after what the ferry company described as a ‘medical emergency’.
Passengers on the 10:45am sailed either on the 11:35pm Pride of Kent or the 12:35pm. Passengers due to travel on the 12:05pm, sailed on the delayed 11:01am departure.
A spokesman for P&O Ferries confirmed that a Romanian lorry driver had died on the ship from a suspected heart attack and the ship was delayed while the necessary arrangements were made with the French authorities.
