Mega project The London Resort hits another roadblock
Plans for a multi-billion pound theme park project dubbed UK Disneyland have been temporarily shelved. The London Resort has been planned for Swanscombe Peninsula beside the River Thames.
The £2.5bn project plans have now been withdrawn over transport and environmental issues, according to the company’s CEO, PY Gerbeau. The brownfield site was given added protection status, complicating the planning process.
Backers say they are ‘100% committed’ to the project and will resubmit revised plans before the end of the year.
