Melia rebrands Puerto Rico resort
Melia Hotels & Resorts has announced the upcoming renovation program and rebranding of its Puerto Rico property.
Following the work, which will take place throughout 2017, Gran Melia Puerto Rico will be rebranded as Melia Coco Beach.
Renovations will take place in various phases, with F&B updates to include a buffet restaurant, a steakhouse and a Japanese-Peruvian fusion restaurant.
Melia Coco Beach will also see a newly refurbished convention center, which is slated to open in December 2017.
"We are excited to watch our beautiful Puerto Rico property evolve and transform into Meli Coco Beach. The brand will be the perfect fit for guests looking to experience a combination of beachside relaxation and local culture," said Raul Alvarez, director of operations for the Americas.
It will upgrade 120 rooms to become part of premium service concept THE LEVEL, along with six pool garden villas and an exclusive lounge for THE LEVEL guests.
Melia Coco Beach will also introduce new programming including curated children’s experiences and amenities, while the Romance by Meli program and treatments at YHI Spa are already available for guests.
