Mexican resort offers unusual shopping package
CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort and Spa seems to have come up with a unique summer package involving shopping guides.
The resort’s new Shop n’ Tan Package available now through 18 December, starts at $267 for a Deluxe Ocean View Room and includes:
- Welcome amenity
- Daily breakfast for two at La Estancia Restaurant
- Nightly turndown service
- One guided shopping tour for 3 hours per stay (transportation in air conditioned van)
So what’s a shopping guide?
“The person is a guide with knowledge of the city and history,†who can point out specific souvenirs or hand crafts, answers Michel Lauren Fox, who handles public relations for the resort.
“Since the guide knows the city very well they can advise guests about the right place to go shopping. The resort has implemented this package due to the tax rebate occurring in Mexico at this time,†she says.
Some special aspects of shopping in Puerto Vallarta are that guests can find unique artworks for very reasonable prices, in addition to a variety of selected handcrafted items of the country, she added.
Is anyone jumping on this bandwagon? As far as can be told, no.
