Mind playing tricks – still
When people refer to the World Travel Market – suggest a meeting, tell me who’s exhibiting on their stand, etc – I find the first image in my mind’s eye is of their stand or zone… at Earl’s Court! Still! After all these years at Excel! Is it that Earls Court was more visually stimulating? Those vistas from the balcony or the ‘long gaze’ down the escalators, the ‘in your face’ Hall 2 hotel stands as you walked through from the main hall, or the bottleneck squeeze at Canada and the Seychelles as you circumnavigated the balcony. Is Excel, by comparison, visually bland and forgetable? Or should I seek professional help? Alastair McKenzie
