MONDAY ASH ALERT – Airport parking firms suspend cancellation charge
BCP and HolidayExtras.com have suspended a normal cancellation charge of £9.50 until further notice.
Holiday Extras cancelled 933 airport car park bookings yesterday and 1,042 bookings so far today.
Howard Dove, CEO of Airparks which partners with Holiday Extras, said: “The volcanic ash cloud has created a very difficult and stressful situation for many travellers.
“We’ve decided to waive any costs for extra days parking for customers who can’t get back to the UK because their flights have been cancelled or postponed because of the closure of UK airspace.
“We will also allow pre-booking customers to amend their bookings free of charge. Hopefully, this will alleviate one of travellers’ worries.”
