Money woes deter travellers
More than a third of would-be travellers admitted they will not take the plunge for fear of being financially crippled, a survey has revealed.
Despite more than nine in ten wishing to quit work and explore the world, 36% said the worry of giving up the day job would prevent the dream becoming reality. A further 18% said their employer would not endorse a sabbatical and simply ban any extended break.
The study, conducted by South African Tourism, quizzed 2,000 Britons about their travel desires. Other findings included an increasing desire by older people to travel the world while one in two are seeking adventure rather than relaxation.
The study comes as SAT prepares to launch its Imax 3D film, Wild Safari 3D: A South African Adventure.
