New air route between Mongolia and Singapore to start in November

MIAT Mongolian Airlines announced to launch a new route to Southeast Asia for the Northern winter 2025/26 season. Mongolia national airline published its schedule for a new link between Ulaan Baatar and Singapore. According to MIAT timetable, the flight will be served twice a week each Thursday and Saturday with a Boeing 767-300ER. In Singapore, MIAT will propose connections to the rest of Southeast Asia as well as to Australia and Europe.

MIAT will use a Boeing 767-300ER for the 7½-hour flight, offering 15 business-class seats and 237 seats in economy. Tickets are already on sale and cover the period until March 26, 2026.

Singapore will apparently be MIAT single destination in Southeast Asia. MIAT used to serve Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City in the past on a seasonal basis (generally from December to March). However, the Mongolian carrier did not provide a timing for the resumption of both services in the winter season.

Next : USA, India and Uzbekistan?

Meanwhile, MIAT is also planning to launch a direct flight from Ulaan Baatar to San Francisco, targeting a significant Mongolian diaspora market in California. Originally planned for 2024, but full FAA Category 1 certification is still pending, delaying the much expected service.

Beside the potential resumption of Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City, MIAT has also plans to start new routes to India and Uzbekistan. Currently, the airline serves 11 destinations internationally, the most important routes being to China, Japan and South Korea. The fleet currently comprises 9 aircraft, including two brand-new Bombardier CRJ-700.
