Montage Doesn’t Disappoint
Montage Beverly Hills, the first new luxury hotel property to be built in Beverly Hills in more than 16 years, celebrated its opening night with a black-tie gala for 1000. Hosted by Alan J. Fuerstman, Founder and CEO of Montage Hotels & Resorts; Ali V. Kasikci, Managing Director and Kim A. Richards, President and CEO, The Athens Group, project developers, the evening marked the official introduction of the company’s long-awaited second property. Montage Laguna Beach, opened in 2003.
Award-winning hotelier Ali Kasikci greeted guests and later expressed his “honor that Alan Fuerstman selected me as steward for this amazing project … and in a city that has been my home and has held my heart for 18 years.”
Throughout the evening, guests meandered throughout the eight-story, 201 room Spanish Colonial Revival-designed property, reminiscent of the architecture prevalent in the Golden Age of Hollywood and Beverly Hills of the 20’s and 30’s. Each of the hotel’s six culinary destinations featured exquisitely prepared offerings ranging from a “Chocolate Room” to smoked salmon and foie gras in The Lobby Lounge to mini entree selections with wine pairings and a lavish shellfish bar in Parq Dining Room and the intimate Chef’s Kitchen.
While sipping champagne or the evening’s featured wines, BV 2005 Tapestry and 2006 Chalone Estate Chardonnay, guests enjoyed a montage of music ranging from lively mariachis in The Parq Dining Room, to concert guitarist Anthony Mazella in The Conservatory.
Lyrical harp music welcomed guests to the 20,000 square foot, two-story Spa Montage, featuring a unique mosaic-tiled co-ed mineral pool and samplings of Richard Ruskell’s “Vegetable Elixirs” and “Antioxidant Shots,” to offset the evenings decadence.
Climaxing the festivities, a formal dedication featuring a proclamation from Beverly Hills Mayor Barry Brucker, who pronounced the Montage ” … an incredibly beautiful hotel which further enhances the city’s stature as a world-class community,” all of which set the stage for a surprise fireworks display … a dramatic ending to one evening and apparently the beginning of many more to come at Montage Beverly Hills.
