More Hurricane Harvey cancellations for Carnival Cruise Line

Saturday, 30 Aug, 2017 0

Carnival Cruise Line has been forced to cancel another sailing due to the extended closure of the port of Galveston.

Carnival Valor’s scheduled cruise departing from Galveston on August 31 was confirmed as cancelled.

The port will likely remain closed until the end of the week.

Carnival Valor’s previous cruise was also scrapped as were sailings on the Carnival Breeze and Carnival Freedom.

Valor was due back to the port on August 26 but has been out at sea since after a stop in New Orleans.

A full refund will be automatically processed for customers and a 25% future cruise credit is offered for the next cruise if booked with two months.

All three ships will return to New Orleans over the coming days to allow passengers to disembark and make their way home, or they have the option to sit tight and wait for the port of Galveston to reopen.

Port officials have said they are still unsure exactly when it will be able to welcome cruise ships again, but won’t be until later this week at the earliest.
