More magic for Orlando hoop stars with Disney sponsorship
NBA’s the Orlando Magic has inked a deal which will see Walt Disney World Resort become its first jersey sponsor.
The partnership kicks off for the 2017-18 NBA season and expands an existing collaboration since 2010 on community initiatives such as the Champion of the Community partnership.
"At Walt Disney World Resort, we naturally believe in all things magic and are happy to support our hometown team," said George A. Kalogridis, president of Walt Disney World Resort.
"This long-term relationship symbolizes our shared focus of solidifying Orlando as a world class city for sports."
As part of a multi-year partnership, Disney will have branded seating and a hospitality area at the Amway Center.
This may be used for annual pass holder upgrades at select games.
"With Orlando as our hometown, magic has always been a key strand of our DNA. This expanded agreement with Disney brings our story full circle and represents the coming together of two dynamic organizations that have become synonymous with Orlando," said Orlando Magic CEO Alex Martins.
The Magic becomes the seventh NBA team to secure a jersey sponsorship for next season.
