More snow on the way
Amber weather warnings have been issued for the Midlands, northern England and for Scotland.
The Met Office is expecting snow showers to move across southern parts of northern England and into the northeast Midlands and Lincolnshire during the early hours of today.
The amount of snow will be variable although it forecasts 10-15cm accumulating in some areas within a six-hour period.
It said the public should be prepared for disruption, particularly to transport, with trans-Pennine routes at particular risk.
