More than 100,000 Kiwis took Fiji Holidays
Despite spending most of the calendar year 2007 in recovery mode after the 2006 military coup, Fiji has achieved a better than expected 100,278 New Zealand tourist arrivals.
New Zealand remained Fiji’s second biggest tourist market behind Australia, which produced record arrivals figures in 2007 of 198, 200, according to Fiji Islands Visitors Bureau regional director New Zealand, Ms Sala Toganivalu.
“Cumulatively the market share from the New Zealand and Australian markets was 70.31 per cent for 2007 versus 71.12 per cent in 2006,” she said.
“Collectively New Zealand and Australia account for more than 55 per cent of Fiji’s visitors overall.”
