Morocco adds $48 tax to first class tickets
They say the best advertising is a satisfied customer, but Morocco is putting a new spin on that.
Every traveler to the West African country next spring will be helping to attract more tourists.
Morocco on Thursday unveiled a tax of $48 for first-class travelers and $12 for economy class that will take effect on April 1.
The tax is expected to bring in more than $100 million a year; half of that will be used to promote Morocco as a vacation destination in emerging markets like Brazil, China, the Gulf and Eastern Europe, the tourism minister said.
