Mountain in $3.1m grant for gateway
Falls Creek has won a $3.1 million Victorian Government grant to help create a new day and night, summer and winter gateway to the village.
The funding would be spent on landscaping, signage and improved vehicle and pedestrian access to a new $40 million, privately funded Village Plaza.
Improvements will be landscaping around the plaza, a terraced and vegetated bank, a traffic management system including a landscaped arrival forecourt with signage and lighting and a landscaped, lit and heated perimeter path from the plaza to remove pedestrians from the road.
The funding is part of a $27 million tourism package under the Victorian Governments Moving Forward program.
Melbourne developer Zacamoco will build the Village Plaza.
