Movenpick to take over Boracay beach resort
Hospitality group Movenpick has signed a deal to take over a beach resort on the Philippine holiday island hotspot of Boracay.
The company will manage the 333-key Punta Bunga Beach Resort, in the island’s northwest which will be reflagged as the ‘Movenpick Resort Boracay.
It will reopen in December, the company said.
"Signing a property in Boracay is a significant development for Movenpick, as it cements our presence in one of Asia’s most established resort destinations," said Andreas Mattmüller, chief operating officer for Middle East and Asia.
Key features at the resort include dedicated family rooms, a kids’ club, several restaurants including Italian, Japanese and Korean, a beach club and meetings space.
