MP3 Walking Tours of London, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Ely and Cheltenham Launched

MP3 walking tour specialist Tourist Tracks has launched four new UK products over the last month, with another going live at the end of April.

Last week the company completed and launched a tour of the London Bridge area of the capital, taking in the area between London Bridge and Tower Bridge. The tour was created in partnership with the London Bridge Business Improvement District Company.

A couple of weeks earlier Tourist Tracks launched tours of Edinburgh and Glasgow at the Tourism Innovation Day at Glasgow’s Hampden Park – its first Scottish products – while two walks of the Regency hotspot of Cheltenham went live shortly before that. Next month the cathedral city of Ely will join the Tourist Tracks family – including, for the first time, a tour of the interior of the cathedral that can be downloaded to visitors’ audio players.

Founder and tours director Tim Gillett said: ‘We are delighted to have launched these tours in what has been a very busy start to the year for us. In particular, we are looking forward to the cathedral tour going live as it is our first of a building interior rather than of an urban area.’

To coincide with the London Bridge product going live, Tourist Tracks has combined all four of its London products – London Bridge, South Bank, City of London and City of Westminster. The Edinburgh and Glasgow products are also sold together as a package.

‘We are already having some success with the discounted multi-packs,’ added Gillett. ‘We have also recently had several inquiries from the industry about licensing our tours to be given away as part of tour packages, and we are continuing to develop new tours. We will have products in 14 destinations by the end of April and are aiming to have 20 products live by the end of 2008.’
