MSC Cruises upgrades Miami cruise terminal plans
MSC Cruises has inked a letter of intent for up to two new cruise terminals at PortMiami.
It marks an upgrade from a memorandum of understanding signed last year.
MSC will build either one terminal able to handle two 7,000-passenger ships, or two separate terminals.
MSC will fund the cost of the terminals and associated infrastructure.
It is expected to be completed by late 2022.
MSC will take delivery of the first of the 200,000 ton World Class ships in 2022.
The agreement marks ‘a blueprint for the further expansion of the cruise operation at the world’s leading cruise port,’ said MSC Group’s executive chairman, Gianluigi Aponte.
MSC currently has three ships sailing out of Miami.
