MSC delays return of Magnifica sailings again
MSC Cruises has again delayed the restart date of MSC Magnifica, pushing back the relaunch until mid-October.
Four seven-night cruises, due to start on 26 September, have been cancelled. They’ve been replaced with new, 10-night east and west Mediterranean cruises, starting on 19 October.
Passengers who’d been due to sail on one of the booked cruises will be transferred to MSC Grandiosa, or will be given a future cruise credit.
MSC Magnifica will homeport in Genoa, operating seven 10-night itineraries, with calls at Livorno for Florence and Pisa, Messina in Sicily, Valletta in Malta, Piraeus for Athens and Katakolon for Olympia in Greece and Civitavecchia for Rome, before returning to Genoa.
There will also be an eight-night Christmas cruise, departing Genoa on 18 December.
After that, there are also plans for a world cruise in 2021.
MSC Cruises has also extended MSC Grandiosa’s current sailings through to the end of the year, including the ship’s Christmas cruise to depart from Genoa, Italy on 20 December.
Magnifica had been due to return to cruising in August, but MSC delayed the ship’s return, citing a ‘softening in demand’.
