MSC orders two more mega ships
Just a couple of days after MSC Cruises finally got its hands on the all-new MSC Seaside from shipbuilder Fincantieri, the line has announced a deal for two even bigger Seaside Evo-class ships.
Deliveries are slated for 2021 and 2023.
The 5,646-passenger Seaside Evo ships are able to hold an extra 500 passengers thanks to an additional deck and more staterooms.
The MSC Seaside is the line’s first vessel to be sent directly to the US market.
It will be based in PortMiami and will be officially unveiled there on December 21.
At 323 meters long and a weight of 154.000 tons, it is the largest ship built in Italy so far.
"MSC Seaside coming into service marks another key milestone in the history and future of our company, but she also embodies a pivotal moment for the industry. In fact, she is the first ship of the fifth new prototype that we bring into service and introduces a wholly-innovative product," said MSC Cruises executive chairman Pierfrancesco Vago.
"The Seaside Class of ships is designed to bring guests closer to the sea and to operate in sunny waters, while continuing to push the boundaries of maritime and guest-centric technology."
