Multiple airlines cancel Tel Aviv flights
With Israel now saying it is on a war footing, multiple airlines have cancelled flights to Tel Aviv.
US carriers United Airlines, American Airlines and Delta Air Lines have all temporarily suspended flights.
The Federal Aviation Administration issued an ‘extreme caution’ NOTAM for airlines flying in Israeli airspace.
“Future operations at TLV will be suspended until conditions allow them to resume,” United Airlines said in a statement.
Both Delta and AA said in statements that operations to Israel had been suspended through at least Sunday.
“We will continue to monitor the situation and will adjust our operation as needed,” American Airlines said.
Air France, Lufthansa, Emirates, Iberia Express. LOT and Aegean Airlines also cancelled Tel Aviv flights.
Some flights are still operating to Red Sea tourist destination Eilat.
“Given the current security situation in Tel Aviv, Lufthansa is canceling all flights to and from Tel Aviv up until and including Monday,” it said.
