Murdered agent Cassie Hayes’ mum receives £7,000

Thursday, 10 Apr, 2018 0

The family of murdered travel agent Cassie Hayes has received almost £7,000 from a Gofundme page set up by the founder of the Travel Gossip Facebook site, Bruce Martin.

Speaking the day after Cassie’s murderer was jailed for life, Martin said the money had been given a few weeks ago to Cassie’s mum.

He said she would use the money ‘as she sees fit’ and that some of the cash would be set aside for Cassie’s daughter.

More than 500 people contributed cash to Cassie’s fund, many of them anonymously.

She was stabbed in the neck by the former boyfriend of her partner, Laura Williams, while she was working at a TUI store in Southport. Jailing her murderer Andrew Burke for life yesterday, judge David Aubrey described Cassie as ‘a lovely, lively and caring woman’.
