Dr Anna Spenceley
Event set for International Year of Biodiversity
During the International Year of Biodiversity and at this year’s World Travel Market, IUCN is setting a discussion on “Nature conservation and tourism: how to make it work” taking place on the 11th of November from 11:00 to 12:00 in North Gallery Room 8.
The purpose of this session is to bring together representatives from hotels, tour operators and developers to debate what has been achieved, what is at stake and what could be realistic solutions for tourism and conservation.
The session will be chaired by Dr Anna Spenceley, Chair of the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA) Tourism and Protected Areas Specialist Group.
The discussion will be preceded by presentations from four panelists from the tourism industry.
