NCL’s £1,966 rate for World Cup cruises

England’s World Cup group games and all knockout stage matches are to be screened live on board Norwegian Jewel in the Med.

Norwegian Cruise Line has introduced an exclusive starting price of £1,966 for a family of four on a seven-night Mediterranean cruise on its newest ship.

The £1,966 rate is based on a price for two adults and two children sharing a cabin with balcony on a cruise-only basis. Full package prices including return flights start at £799 per person.

Cruises departing June 11, 18 and 25 and July 2 and 9 will be showing World Cup matches.

NCL joins P&O Cruises in offering football fans the chance to watch games from the tournament in Germany on cruise ships.

UK general manager Francis Riley said: “Without a doubt football is the most popular sport in the UK and to some it is almost a religion, not just a pastime.

“We are constantly looking for new ways to break barriers with Freestyle Cruising on our ships – bringing our guests unexpected activities and opportunities to relax and have fun as the mood takes them. Plus, we are all realists at NCL; we know that without some key matches being broadcast, we will have some very stressed-out guests indeed.”
