Neilson strikes deal to keep tabs on rivals
Neilson Active Holidays is to keep tabs on its rivals prices after signing a deal with price monitoring company Pricing Intelligence.
The web browser PriceTag system will enable the operator’s ski brand to receive updates of price fluctuations through Viewdata without the need for manual checks. Staff receive email alerts of any variations.
Neilson managing director Pete Tyler said: “Maintaining our competitive price position has always been a key objective and the new service enables us to achieve this is a more efficient and proactive manner.”
Meanwhile, the operator has bolstered its 2005/06 ski programme with the addition of seven new resorts, 89 properties and short break options.
It has secured accommodation in Selva, Corvara, Canazei and Campitello in Italy, Fernie in Canada, Jackson Hole in the US and Zell and Ziller in Austria.
Head of product and marketing Jo Lynch said capacity to Italy, one of its key growth areas in recent seasons, has doubled through the Verona gateway.
Short breaks have also become increasingly popular, said Lynch, as an addition to a main skiing holiday or as an alternative. To cater for demand, three, four and five night breaks in France, Austria, Norway, Sweden, Andorra, Italy and Romania have been added to the programme.
New regional flights have been added, including Manchester to Verona and Vancouver and Glasgow to Lyon.
