New airline booking site
Travel agencies and airline customers will have new booking web sites after e-Travel’s announcement of a five-year contract with Air Canada.
e-Travel will provide both booking and other services to the airlines this fall. Air Canada says its new web sites are a key element to its restructuring plans.
“Air Canada’s new business model sets an example for other network carriers struggling to compete with low-cost carriers in today’s travel market, said Scott Gutz, president and CEO of e-Travel North America.
The new Air Canada web sites will be powered by e-Travel Planitgo, a fully customizable Web-based booking engine. The technology offers passengers the most fares — across different fare classes, times and dates — on a single screen, according to the company.
