New Asia focused airline orders first aircraft
Alaska-based Northern Pacific Airways has agreed a purchase of its first six Boeing 757-200 aircraft.
The airline completed the transaction to meet part of its initial fleet requirements and the first aircraft will be delivered immediately.
The new airline, a wholly-owned subsidiary of FLOAT Alaska LLC, will offer service between points in the US. and Asia, via Anchorage.
The acquisition of the Boeing 757-200s is the first step in Northern Pacific’s business plan.
The carrier intends to continue expanding its fleet as it prepares for passenger flights.
"Northern Pacific is proud to introduce these aircraft as the foundation of our fleet," said Rob McKinney, Northern Pacific’s CEO.
"The Boeing 757-200 will help us achieve operational savings and efficiencies while offering our customers a rewarding travel experience."
Northern Pacific Airways hasn’t disclosed routes yet but is planning services from the US to East Asia by connecting through Ted Stevens International Airport in Anchorage, Alaska.
