New Bangladesh airline Air Astra inks Sabre GDS deal
Sabre Corporation announced a distribution agreement with new Bangladesh airline start-up Air Astra.
The Dhaka-based carrier joined Sabre’s global distribution network to support its retailing strategy.
The new GDS deal further enables Air Astra to sell its inventory via Sabre-connected travel agents.
“It was essential to us to have the right technology partner from the outset,” said Imran Asif, CEO of Air Astra.
Based at Shahjalal International Airport, Air Astra launched at the end of 2022 with domestic flights to Cox’s Bazar and Chittagong.
The Bangladesh airline plans a phased rollout of more domestic routes, as well as increasing its fleet size.
It has ambitions of launching international flights in the near future.
