New cruise ship in Maine
American Cruise Lines is doubling its space next year.
The American Star in Maine is due to set sail next summer.
By operating the new 100-passenger American star in the summer season instead of the 49-passenger American Glory, American will double its number of berths, according to vice president Tim Beebe. He said the move is being made to meet increased demand.
American Cruise Lines’ offers fall foliage cruises on the Hudson River, among other itineraries.
Its ships are known for luxury touches such as rooms with flat-screen-satellite TVs and internet access.
