Philadelphia is taken a key step in its goal of becoming a new cruise travel hub.
PhilaPort says construction of a new cruise terminal is underway and expects to begin welcoming cruise passengers next spring.
The site is beside the Delaware River and close to Philadelphia International Airport.

NCL has announced cruises to Bermuda and north to Canada.
Norwegian Jewel will be based in Philly for the summer of 2026.
The new cruise terminal is a partnership between PhilaPort, NCLH and Energy Transfer Marketing and Terminals.
NCLH will be responsible for the terminal construction management and cruise passenger facilities.
PhilaPort says the work will generate more than 2,000 direct and about $300 million in annual economic output once the terminal is operational.
