New Delta route to link Amsterdam with Orlando

Delta Air Lines will link central Florida with the Netherlands’ capital Amsterdam from next spring.

Flights from Orlando to Amsterdam-Schiphol take off on March 30, 2018 and will operate daily.

Delta is deploying Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, equipped with Delta One, Delta Comfort+ and main economy seating.

It is a big win for Central Florida tourism, Delta says.

"Our new flight will be the only daily nonstop service between Orlando and Amsterdam improving access between these cities," said Dwight James, Delta’s Trans-Atlantic SVP.

"Not only are we enabling customers’ easy access to Florida’s main attractions, but our partnership with Air France, KLM and Alitalia makes connecting throughout Europe easy and convenient via our Amsterdam hub."

AMS becomes the 57th global nonstop route from OIA  and the flights are estimated to generate about $80 million in economic impact to Central Florida each year.

"We welcome this non-stop service connection to Amsterdam, one of the most popular European destinations. The connections offered for the Greater Central Florida community to other world markets will certainly increase Orlando International Airport’s access as a global gateway," said Phil Brown, executive director at Orlando International Airport.
