New discount site caters to business

Tuesday, 22 Jul, 2004 0

There’s something unusual about this new Web site catering to discount travel: instead of trying to attract families and individuals, the site is offering lower cost business travel.

The advantage of TravelSlot.com is also its simplicity, according to Charles Dunbar, founder and president.

“There is no special program for businesses to join, and we don’t force our corporate clients to set up complicated co-branded Web sites,” he said.

“Even smaller companies can take advantage of the significant savings on domestic and international travel,” he added.

TravelSlot offers businesses and their employees up to 70% off group and individual rates, according to Mr Dunbar.

Trips can be booked through the site server or a 24-hour telephone customer service line. Special discounts are offered for group rates.

TravelSlot is also trying to appeal to the leisure market with a road trip planning tool offering various deals on cruises and vacation rentals. The site plans to soon introduce customer reviews for hotels.
