New Expedia offering customizes travel services

Sunday, 03 May, 2006 0

Expedia.com introduced a service allowing travelers to set up customized searches for travel services automatically sent to them.

By telling Expedia what destinations and types of trips they want to monitor, travelers receive up-to-date, customized travel information alongside news headlines, weather updates and other homepage information.

“Expedia’s real-time alerts on travel deals provide more options and more information than any other in online travel,” said Sally McKenzie, general manager.

Expedia claims that while other online travel providers offer a service similar to what they call RSS (Really Simple Syndication), none offer a higher level of superior travel content.

Said Ms McKenzie: “This service is flexible and robust, offering a superior experience to other online travel agencies.”
