New hotel search engine gives consumers comprehensive tool

Sunday, 05 Apr, 2006 0

Search Party is a new travel service that says it offers consumers several new comparison features not currently found at any other single site.

The site provides resources for consumers to compare the total cost of a hotel stay, including nightly rates, taxes, booking fees and cancellation policies. It covers more than 40,000 US hotels.

“We’ve created Search Party to provide a complete view that helps our users compare the total ‘real’ cost of the stay to find the best all-around value,” said Eric Christensen, founder and president.

Consumers using the site can save between 25 to 30% on hotel stays, or an average $50 per booking, according to Mr Christensen.

He said the site is the first Web site to comprehensively compare cancellation policies and fees.

The site has been in development for more than 18 months.
