New ITM general manager appointed
The Institute of Travel Management UK and Ireland has created a new post of general manager and filled it with industry stalwart Anne Deamer.
Deamer has worked in travel for the last 30 years, for ATOC, Virgin Trains, British Airways and Air Jamaica.
She will undertake a review of the association’s training and education programmes and develop the ITM Academy, the brainchild of ITM chair Caroline Strachan, which will lead to a business travel management degree in conjunction with major universities.
ITM has also appointed Diane Steed as head of sales and marketing and she will join Deamer in reporting into executive director Paul Tilstone.
Steed has worked in travel management for 21 years, with American Express, Continential Airlines and EOS Airlines.
